The Vinayaka Mission's College Of Nursing, Kottucherry is a Private College.Vinayaka Mission’s College of Nursing, Karaikal was established in the year 2004.the college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and The Tamilnadu State Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai and accreted by UGC and NAAC. The annual intake of P B Bsc-30 seats and Msc-20 (Twenty) MedSurg-4 Obg-4 Paed-4 Psy-4 Chn4 and Bsc-60 seats. 

The institution has excellent infrastructure facilities include Class Rooms, Labs and Library. The institution is adopting innovative methods of teaching for learners with experienced faculty with vision and proficiency in their fields. Our library is well equipped with adequate number of books including new editions, national and international journals, e-journals, wifi and internet facilities. The students are getting their clinical experience in our own parental multi-specialty 530 bedded teaching hospitals, which is well equipped with diagnostic and treatment facilities, run by well-experienced and competent health team professionals. For the community health experience we have our own urban and rural health centers.  separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. The students of  institution are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities within and outside the college. NAME OF THE COLLEGES UNDER THE FACULTY OF NURSING OF THE UNIVERSITY:-

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLLMENT:- 

B.Sc. (Nursing):-

• He/ She shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, of the year of admission to the program
• The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years Course)
• An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English with a minimum of 35% for SC/ST candidates and 45% for the others

 P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing):-

• He/ She should have qualified in Diploma in Nursing and be a registered Nurse and Midwife in the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council or any other State Nursing Council accepted by the University
• After GNM with the Registration Certificate from the state nursing council, the candidate can be permitted to join in the program without work experience
• A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of in any one of the areas such as O.T. Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing, and Occupational Nursing

M.Sc. (Nursing)

• The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
• The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
• The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC)
• Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing

ADMISSION:-

1. The students applying for the program for this University are offered admission on the basis of merit through “ALL INDIA COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE)” followed by a counseling process conducted by the University.
2. The Admission procedure for the CEE conducted by the University for this Programme is mentioned separately.
3. The minimum percentage of marks obtained from the above CEE for eligibility for admission to this program shall be 50% for general category candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
4. Non-Resident / Foreign Nationals can be admitted up to 15% of total seats as per norms and guidelines of the University. They are exempted from the CEE stated in clause 6.1., but their merit will be ascertained based on their performance in qualifying examination approved by the Government and the University.

REGISTRATION:-A candidate admitted to the program in the Faculty of Nursing and a Constituent Nursing Colleges of the University shall register with the University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form for registration dully filled in and forwarded to the Controller of Examinations of this University through the Head of the Institution within the stipulated date.
